OMJ|CC, Cuyahoga County Partner for Virtual Jobs Week from June 15-19
As Cuyahoga County begins to re-open, the approximately 120,000 people who filed for unemployment in our community since March are looking for jobs. There are also employers across a diverse set of industries looking for people to join their team.
Cuyahoga County, the City of Cleveland, the Mandel Supporting Foundation at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, PCs for People, and OhioMeansJobs|Cleveland-Cuyahoga County (OMJ|CC) have partnered to host a virtual jobs week from June 15-19, 2020.
Traditional job fairs are no longer an option because of social distancing. The Cuyahoga County Career Expo will connect applicants and employers in a safe and secure way.
The Virtual Job Fair will give employers the chance to share their needs, products, services and more. OMJ|CC will then match jobseekers to those opportunities, offering resume assistance and interview preparation along the way.

While the virtual option works for many, the digital divide poses a problem for the 25% of County residents without reliable internet access. The County has partnered with PCs for People to provide up to 1,000 jobseekers with:
-
A computer
-
A wireless hotspot
-
Three months of Internet access
-
Online training through the SkillUp initiative.
This partnership will ensure that residents are not left behind due to the unique challenges posed by social distancing and staying at home.
