Internet speed is not the same across the country, or even across the county. Your internet speed determines what types of activities you can do on the internet, as well as how many devices you can connect at once.

Have you ever stopped to think about how your internet speed compares to those around you?

You can help Cuyahoga County and our partners find this out by taking an internet speed test and survey to quickly determine your rate of speed and provide feedback on your internet service. You’ll also answer questions about your internet service provider, how much you pay for internet monthly, how satisfied you are with your service and any issues you regularly experience with your service.

When you complete the test and survey, this will provide valuable data to the County and local leaders and better identify gaps in connectivity to better target investment in underserved communities.

For families with slow internet speeds, it can be difficult for kids to do their online homework, a parent to look for a job and a college student to stream a video for class, all at the same time.

This will help make sure that communities that need connections get them.

“Giving residents access to low-cost, high-speed internet is a key way to lift communities in Cuyahoga County,” said County Executive Armond Budish. “Along with the many other ways we’ve been bridging the digital divide for many years now, this will help us better determine, down to the street level, how to provide a connection to those who need it.”

The Internet Speed Test and Survey, conducted in partnership with Measurement Lab, Marconi Society, and X-Lab at Penn State University, will be available through November 2021.
