Stokes to Swear In FitzGerald as First Cuyahoga County Executive

CLEVELAND – Former U.S. Congressman Louis Stokes will swear in Ed FitzGerald as Cuyahoga’s first county executive at a formal inauguration ceremony set for Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011. Honorary Co-Chairs include Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson, Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge and Congressman Dennis Kucinich. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the Old Courthouse, 1 W. Lakeside Avenue, Cleveland.
“We are honored to have former Congressman Lou Stokes play such an important role in the inaugural swearing in of Cuyahoga County Executive-Elect, Ed FitzGerald,” said Inauguration Planning Director Sharon Cole. “As we begin this new form of improved county governance, it is important to remember the past contributions of great leaders like Congressman Stokes.”
