Statement on the American Greetings Announcement

The Cuyahoga County Executive’s office issued the following reaction from Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald in response to the announcement this morning by Governor John Kasich and American Greetings CEO Zev Weiss:

I am pleased to see that American Greetings is committed to staying in Northeast Ohio.  American Greetings is a strong part of the economy here in Cuyahoga County.   Ever since we met with American Greetings when I was elected as County Executive, we knew that they were committed to remaining in Northeast Ohio.  We will continue to work with American Greetings and with other companies to attract new businesses and to help existing companies grow here in Cuyahoga County.

With continued collaborative leadership, we are focused on finding ways that we will be globally competitive.  We need to stop competing against each other and start competing against the world.
