“We are pleased to offer residents many ways to pay their taxes, including by mail and on-line,” said Robin Darden Thomas, Chief Deputy Treasurer. “Taxes are due this Wednesday, January 26. Residents can pay on-line through Wednesday at 12 midnight or people can mail in their tax payment as long as it is postmarked by January 26th.”
Residents who do not pay their taxes this Wednesday will face penalties beginning Thursday (1/27/11). These penalties are mandated by Ohio law. Payments made after midnight on 1/26 will incur a 10% penalty. If the full amount of the taxes is paid within 10 days of the deadline, the penalty is reduced to 5%. The taxpayer may file a Remission of Penalty form stating the reason(s) the payment was late, which may allow the penalty to be removed. The Remission of Penalty form is available on the Treasurer's website https://treasurer.cuyahogacounty.us/. Payment plans may be available and Taxpayer Services Representatives can provide additional information at 216-443-7420.
“County government continues to be modernized and along with the options of paying on-line and by mail, our employees remain committed to finding new ways of assisting our residents, such as the new drive-up service,” said Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald. “Our hope is that residents will take advantage of the multiple ways their County government can help assist them.”

2010 Taxes Due on Wednesday, January 26, 2011
CLEVELAND – The first half 2010 tax collection closes on Wednesday, and for the first time ever, the Cuyahoga County Treasurer’s Office will offer to residents the option of a drive-up service to pay their 2010 taxes in check form.
