Summer Youth Employment Program Application Process Now Available

CLEVELAND ‐ Registration for Cuyahoga County’s Summer Youth Employment Program is now open, and will remain open until noon on Wednesday May 23. In order to be eligible for the program, youth must meet the following criteria:
1. Family must meet eligible income guidelines based on family size; see income guidelines below;
2. Youth ages 14-17, who are a minor and currently attending school,
3. Youth age 18, who are full time students in a secondary school, or
4. Youth ages 18-24, who resides in a home with a minor child.
Youth must apply on-line, by logging on to www.youthopportunities.org. Selected participants will be chosen at random.
Youth who are chosen will be notified by mid-June.
Employers or organizations who are interested in serving as a work site for the summer youth employment
program can also "apply or register” online, by logging on to www.youthopportunities.org.
The program is jointly administered by Cuyahoga County Employment and Family Services and Employment Connection.
Agency partners include Cuyahoga Community College, Linking Employment, Abilities & Potential (LEAP),
Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU), Esperanza and Open Doors. The program is expected to create
approximately 1,700 – 2,000 jobs.
