Cuyahoga County to Receive Reimbursement for Storm Work

The Ohio Emergency Management Agency has estimated that total costs incurred as a result of the storm were nearly $18 million. Of that total, more than $6 million was incurred by Cuyahoga County organizations.
The next step in the process is an Applicant’s Briefing conducted by the Ohio Emergency Management Agency and the Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management.
All eligible organizations (those listed above) should attend the briefing which will provide detailed information on the application and reimbursement process.
The briefing will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 10, 2013, with the location to be provided at a later date. The Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management will be notifying its partners of further details when available.

Estimated $6 million in costs for Cuyahoga County government agencies
Cuyahoga County - Today, President Obama made a federal disaster declaration for storm-related work done in Cuyahoga County as a result of the severe weather generated by the remnants of Hurricane Sandy on October 29th and 30th, 2012. This declaration means that political subdivisions, special districts, local/regional authorities, public schools/colleges/universities and certain private non-profit organizations will be eligible for reimbursement of not less than 75 percent of allowable costs incurred as a result of the storm.The Ohio Emergency Management Agency has estimated that total costs incurred as a result of the storm were nearly $18 million.
