CLEVELAND – On Thursday, June 27, 2013, the Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) from companies interested in providing Hotel Operation and Management Services for the new Cleveland Convention Center Hotel Project.

The RFP seeks convention hotel management companies capable of providing a full range of operation and management services for a convention center headquarter hotel development. The County encourages robust local participation and invites proposals from qualified convention center hotel operators with proven experience.

The overall project design and construction budget is expected to be $260 million. The goal is to enhance the Cleveland Convention Center attendee experience and to attract a higher volume of conventions and tradeshows that require large quantities of hotel room bookings and stays. The Hotel will include 600 to 650 guestrooms, and will be adjacent and connected to the Cleveland Convention Center and Global Center for Health Innovation.  The target opening date for the Hotel is summer 2016.

A pre-proposal conference for all participating vendors will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013.  The County will answer questions and provide additional project information during the pre-proposal conference.  Completed proposals must be submitted to the Office of Procurement and Diversity, no later than 11:00 a.m. on July 29, 2013.
