Any Ohio resident homeowner who will be 65 years old this year (2013) or has become permanently and totally disabled as of January 1st qualifies for the Homestead Exemption.

The Homestead Exemption allows those qualified to receive a credit/exemption on the first $25,000 of taxable value.

CLEVELAND – If you are a senior citizen or permanently disabled, the deadline to file for a Homestead Exemption for the 2013 Tax Year is Monday, June 3, 2013. Applications must be received by the Fiscal Office by Monday, June 3, 2013 to receive a tax reduction for those qualified.
