CLEVELAND –The Federal Aviation Administration announced today that the contract towers program would continue to be funded at least through the remainder of the fiscal year. Cuyahoga County Executive FitzGerald applauds this decision and recognizes the hard work of congressional representatives for their support of this effort.
"CuyahogaCounty has been one of the leading advocates in the nation against the FAA’s decision to close federal air traffic towers due to sequestration” said County Executive Ed FitzGerald. “We are glad to see that concerns of aviation experts and community leaders across the country have been heard as they have expressed the dire impact of the closures on safety and on overall air traffic. We ask the FAA to now make a strong commitment to fully fund all federal air traffic towers going forward as well.”
