Physical Test to be Held Saturday

CLEVELAND – On Saturday, June 29, 2013, 29 deputy sheriff and 6 protective services candidates seeking to become Sergeants will be participating in physical skills tests required for promotion for Deputy Sheriff’s and Protective Services.  These deputies and protective services officers have already passed a written examination and are moving forward to the next step in candidate evaluation.

“In order to provide strong leadership, a supervisor must be able to set an example for the people he or she leads, “said Cuyahoga County Sheriff Frank Bova, a 29 year law enforcement veteran. “These physical requirements should apply to a Sergeant candidate as they do to a new deputy hire; these physical requirements will improve the quality of our workforce,” said Bova.

Required physical tasks include timed pushups, sit-ups, distance running and other tests.  The test will be held this Saturday from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm at Normandy High School.  Media opportunities are available for interested outlets.
