CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald named Mark A. Parks, Jr., CPA as the Acting Fiscal Officer for Cuyahoga County. Parks is replacing Wade Steen, who is moving back to Columbus and pursuing a new opportunity at the end of this week. A posting for the permanent Fiscal Officer position, which is nominated by the Executive and confirmed by County Council, is online at https://www.cuyahogacounty.us/.
Under the Cuyahoga County charter, the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Officer performs all duties commonly performed by county auditors and county recorders as well as handles the duties of the clerks of the court of common pleas other than those duties related to serving the operation of the courts.
Parks is a Certified Public Accountant and currently serves as Treasurer for Cuyahoga County. For the last 15 years, he has served in a variety of financial management roles in the public and non-profit sectors and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Political Science, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
“With his wide ranging experience and effective management skills, Mark is truly an asset to county government. He has done an exceptional job as Treasurer and will, without a doubt, confidently and smoothly transition into the role of Acting Fiscal Officer,” said Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald.
