Cuyahoga County Announces Effort to Enroll Residents in Health Insurance Marketplace

CLEVELAND - Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald today pledged his support for community efforts to encourage enrollment in a health insurance plan through the new Health Insurance Marketplace. Throughout the month of March, “Get Covered Cuyahoga County” initiatives will be geared to ensure residents enroll by the March 31st deadline.
“Providing effective Human Services is one of the core mandates of County governments, and a major part of this work is to link residents to the resources and outside agencies that can address their needs," said County Executive FitzGerald. “Cuyahoga County staff will support this community’s efforts to help people get health insurance. We will assist our partners and continue to encourage residents to live healthy lives.”
Education and enrollment opportunities for residents will be available throughout the month of March in targeted Cuyahoga County facilities, including:
These opportunities will be facilitated by trained in-person assisters from trusted community messengers, such as navigators or certified application counselors.
In conjunction with the Cuyahoga County Health Alliance, FitzGerald will also connect local community leadership with trained in-person assisters to ensure enrollment opportunities occur throughout Cuyahoga County and reach the broadest number of County residents in need.
Residents are encouraged to call 2-1-1, the United Way of Cleveland’s First Call for Help hotline, to get connected with local help or find out about events in their neighborhood. Trained and certified assisters are available for in-person appointments throughout Northeast Ohio. During an appointment, an assister will help residents select the best coverage option to meet their health needs and budget or enroll in expanded Medicaid. - Probate Court
- Marion Building

- Pay stubs, W-2 forms, or “Wage and Tax Statements”
- Policy numbers for any current health insurance
- Information about any health insurance available from employer (your employer or the employer of a family member)
