Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office Now Accepting Applications for Student Shadow Program

The CCMEO Student Shadow Program is a mix of education-based lectures and hands-on learning, designed to provide students with greater exposure to forensic science. This program consists of 12 participants per session, and is only open to eligible high school and college-level students (juniors and seniors only). Students must provide the following to apply:
"With the increased interest in forensic science, this program offers students a practical introduction to this fascinating and evolving field," said Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner, Dr. Thomas Gilson. "We hope they finish the day with an appreciation of the critical roles that forensic science plays many areas in the community."
All students can expect to receive a tour of the facility, hear presentations from our professional investigators, and experience a hands-on demonstration in our Mock Scene Training Area. Only college students are eligible to participate in Viewing & Demonstration Autopsy.

Spring applications due by March 7; Fall applications due by October 10
CUYAHOGA COUNTY – The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office is currently accepting applications from eligible students for its CCMEO Student Shadow Program.The CCMEO Student Shadow Program is a mix of education-based lectures and hands-on learning, designed to provide students with greater exposure to forensic science. This program consists of 12 participants per session, and is only open to eligible high school and college-level students (juniors and seniors only). Students must provide the following to apply:
- Complete Application
- Confidentiality Form
- Release and Waiver of Liability Agreement
- Letter of Recommendation from a teacher in your field of study.
- Letter of Recommendation from a Director of the Dept or Principal of your school.
- Professional cover letter and resume
- Parental signature (only students under 18)
