FitzGerald, Cuyahoga County Provide Nearly $1 Million in New Communications Equipment for Southeast Police and Fire Departments

New equipment will be distributed to the following departments:
Bedford Police Department 50 units
Bedford Heights Police Department 55 units
Bedford Heights Fire Department 50 units
Garfield Heights Police Department 55 units
Maple Heights Police Department 87 units
Warrensville Heights Police Department 35 units
Warrensville Heights Fire Department 12 units
North Randall Police Department 5 units
North Randall Fire Department 7 units
In recent months, as part of a continuing plan to streamline and modernize public safety efforts, FitzGerald has announced the distribution of nearly $300,000 in new radios and chargers for Westshore Police and Fire Departments. Over the past year, FitzGerald’s administration has also worked to update communications equipment for first responders in Rocky River and Woodmere.

Promoting Interoperability for Southeast Police and Fire Departments
CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald today announced that the County will distribute 356 new radios and chargers for Southeast Regional Police and Fire Departments. The new communications tools, which are valued at $911,947.40, represent the latest in a series of efforts to promote uniformity between police and fire departments across Cuyahoga County, as well as ensure that first responders have access to the best public safety resources available.“I’m pleased that we’re able to distribute these upgrades to the brave men and women of our Southeast police and fire departments,” said County Executive FitzGerald. “We’re devoted to trying to provide first responders with the best technology that can help them in the field.”
