CLEVELAND – Following reports that the State of Ohio will limit Saturday early voting to two days and entirely eliminate early voting on Sundays during this year’s general election, Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald issued the following statement:
“Following Governor Kasich’s decision last week to limit access to absentee ballots and cut six days of early voting, it is unacceptable that the state is now making it even harder for working men and women to cast their ballot during this year’s general election. Early voting on weekends is especially critical for low and middle income families who can’t afford to choose between going to work or exercising their right to vote. While I hope that the state will revisit this unfortunate and unwise decision, my administration will explore every available option to ensure that the voices of men and women living in Cuyahoga County are heard this November.”
