CLEVELAND - Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald today announced the nominations of Jennifer Scofield to serve as Director of Regional Collaboration and of Jeannet Wright to serve as County Treasurer.
"Jennifer Scofield and Jeannet Wright are well-prepared to take on the challenges of two of the most important public positions in Cuyahoga County," said FitzGerald. "I look forward to working with both of them in the months ahead as we continue our work to restore trust in county government and ensure Northeast Ohio's seniors, veterans, and middle class families have access to the best possible services."
Scofield, who holds a masters degree from the University of Maryland, has served as Acting Director of Regional Collaboration since April. She previously served as Cuyahoga County Deputy Fiscal Officer where she established Cuyahoga CountyStat - FitzGerald's outcome measurement strategy. She brings over 25 years of experience in government, non-profit and private sector work.
"I am honored that County Executive FitzGerald has placed his trust in me to serve as Cuyahoga County's next Director of Regional Collaboration," said Scofield. "I can't wait to help County Executive FitzGerald implement his strategic vision to promote broader and more effective regional collaboration across Cuyahoga County."
In addition, Scofield created and directed the County Health Alliance program, which encourages local governments in Cuyahoga County to adopt healthy policies for their employees and residents, including an active Community Health Challenge; developed and helped launch LakeStat to bring together stakeholders together to tackle issues around Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River; and she is working on the launch of the Center for Excellence in Local Government, a regional effort to engage public entities in advancing good government practices.
A graduate of the Ohio State University, Wright has served as Acting Treasurer since September she replaces Mark Parks, who now serves as Cuyahoga County's Fiscal Officer. She brings 15 years of experience in fiscal management, financial processes, and budget analysis to the position.
"It is humbling to have the opportunity to serve as Cuyahoga County Treasurer," added Wright. "I am grateful for County Executive FitzGerald's support, and I am excited to take on the challenges this position presents."
Scofield and Wright's nominations have been submitted to the Cuyahoga County Council for approval.
