CLEVELAND - Cuyahoga County Executive Edward FitzGerald announced the appointment of Jennifer Scofield as Acting Director of the Department of Regional Collaboration, replacing Ed Jerse who retired in late 2013.

Ms. Scofield, an experienced government administrator and health education specialist, has served as Deputy Fiscal Officer, establishing and coordinating FitzGerald’s outcome measurement program known as “Cuyahoga CountyStat”, as well as "LakeStat," an outcome measurement tool to assess the status of environmental, infrastructure and economic development issues in Lake Erie. In addition, Ms. Scofield has created and directed the County Health Alliance program, which encourages local governments in Cuyahoga County to adopt healthy policies for their employees and residents. Lastly, she is working on the launch of the Center for Excellence in Local Government, a regional effort to engage public entities in advancing good government practices.

"Jennifer's work to date fits perfectly with the role of the Regional Collaboration department; her collaboration with local communities and key stakeholders on health issues and in supporting outcome measurement initiatives makes her a great candidate to continue this important county function."

Ms. Scofield has Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Maryland and has worked in and managed government, non-profit and private organizations for over 25 years, with a special focus on program development, implementation and evaluation.

"I am excited to take on this new opportunity in Regional Collaboration," added Scofield. "Aligning my existing work portfolio under this department will allow the County to gain additional traction on multiple issues. I look forward to continuing this important work over the coming months."
