Armond Budish Hits the Ground Running
Today, County Executive-elect Armond Budish held several meetings throughout the County and continued to listen, learn and prioritize for his term as County Executive. In the morning, Budish met with Cuyahoga County Sheriff Frank Bova and Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Administrative and Presiding Judge John J. Russo to walk through the Cuyahoga County Jail and discuss criminal justice topics.
From there, Budish next met with Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty to discuss law enforcement issues.
Budish then attended a luncheon with judges from the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.
In the afternoon, Budish visited the Virgil E. Brown Center with David Merriman, Interim Director at Cuyahoga County Job and Family Services, and later visited the Jane Edna Hunter Social Services Center with Patricia Rideout, Administrator of Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services. Budish toured both facilities, where he was briefed about the important services they provide, and heard directly from health and human service employees about their work.
On Friday, Budish will attend a meeting hosted by ADAMHS Board CEO William M. Denihan that includes U.S. Attorney Steven M. Dettelbach and other leaders in the enforcement and treatment community dealing with the heroin epidemic.
Later in the day, Budish will meet in Slavic Village with Jim Rokakis, Director of the Thriving Communities Institute, Cuyahoga County Councilman Pernell Jones Jr., and Cleveland Ward 12 Councilman Anthony Barancatelli and other leaders to discuss foreclosure and housing issues, and future job training opportunities.
