CLEVELAND – Just days after Cleveland was announced as the host city for the 2016 Republican National Convention, an event that could bring $200 million in local economic benefits, LeBron James today ended public speculation and announced that he will return to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2014-15 NBA season. Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald issued the following statement on the impact of this decision for Northeast Ohio:
“As a fan, I am ecstatic to welcome LeBron James back to Northeast Ohio, and I can’t wait to cheer him on as he leads the Cavs back to prominence this fall. If the past few days tell us anything at all, there is no doubt that Cleveland is coming back stronger today than ever before. What an incredible week for Cleveland!”
