CLEVELAND - Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald issued the following statement today:

"On this most solemn anniversary, we honor the lives of nearly 3,000 men, women, and children who were murdered in the attacks on the World Trade Center, at the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Among the victims were hundreds of first responders who, without hesitation, answered their charge and met this unprecedented tragedy with unparalleled acts of courage. We remember their example, and our thoughts and prayers are with their families this day."

"Since that day, thousands of brave men and women have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces and sacrificed to ensure our nation's safety. Let us honor their work today and always maintain our support for them."
