CLEVELAND – The new Cuyahoga County Administrative Headquarters will officially open for business this July. The new headquarters, located at 2079 East 9th Street, will be home to more than 600 County employees.

The headquarters will open on Tuesday, July 15th, at 1:30PM in a ceremony with Executive FitzGerald, County Council, Geis Companies, and representatives from the local business community. The headquarters, built and owned by Geis Companies, will be leased to the county for 26 years with the option to purchase for $1 at the end of that lease. More than $200 million has been invested in the Ameritrust complex, helping to revitalize a once dormant section of downtown Cleveland.

The Ameritrust complex, now known as “The 9,” will be a combination of historic and modern building design. In addition to the new Cuyahoga County Administrative Headquarters, the iconic rotunda will house a Heinen's grocery store; the 1010 building will include a mixture of apartments, office space, and retail; and The Tower will be renovated into a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel and luxury apartments.

The move to the new headquarters is a major component of the county’s Real Estate Property Consolidation Project. Many county employees that have been located at various owned and leased county properties will now be in a centralized location that will be convenient for the public to conduct business. In addition, the move to the new headquarters could potentially save the county $84 million over 20 years due to consolidating operations.

The move process for offices and departments that will be located in the new headquarters will after the opening ceremony and is currently scheduled to be completed by Monday, August 11, 2014. The following offices and departments will be located in the new headquarters; the Executive Office, County Council, Fiscal, Human Resources, Development, Inspector General, Planning Commission, Procurement and Diversity, Internal Audit, Information Technology, Public Works, and Public Safety and Justice Services.
