Cuyahoga County Announces Utilities Resource Fair to Connect Community Organizations, Private Firms, and Government Agencies

CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald today announced that the Department of Job and Family Services and the Home Heating and Weatherization Task Force will host a Utilities Resource Fair later this month.

"As winter approaches, it's critical for every level of government to ensure that constituents have access to the resources they need to provide for their families and ensure their well-being," said FitzGerald. "The Utilities Resource Fair will help connect Cuyahoga County taxpayers with community organizations, private companies, and government agencies to guarantee their needs are met this winter."

The Cuyahoga County Utilities Resource Fair will take place Saturday, October 18th, from 10 AM to 2 PM. The free event, which is open to the public, will be held at the West Side Community House, located at 9300 Lorain Avenue in Cleveland.

Constituents will have the opportunity to apply for important utility assistance programs, such as the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), the Percentage of Income Program (PIPP Plus), and the Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP). In addition, staff will be on hand to assist residents in applying for County benefit programs, including Medicaid, Child Care, and Food Assistance.

Interested residents are encouraged to sign up for a free training workshop on utilities assistance programs that will be held at 12 PM. Online registration for this workshop is available at cjfs.cuyahogacounty.us.
