Cleveland – National Corrections Officer Week is May 3rd through 9th, 2015. There are almost 600 Corrections Officers within the Cuyahoga County Corrections system. Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish recognizes the dedication and hard work of those tasked to do a difficult job, one that requires discipline, understanding, and compassion.

“Our staff are hard working and dedicated to continuous improvement and best practices, in a sometimes thankless job,” said Cuyahoga County Executive Budish. “I want to thank them and tell them they are appreciated and admired for what they do.”

Sheriff Clifford Pinkney:
“I have been in the Sheriff’s Department for more than 20 years. I know how difficult the job is, and how dedicated our team is to doing their jobs the right way, to the best of their abilities, and to constantly adapt to an evolving view of correctional supervision.”

The Cuyahoga County Correction Center and affiliated jails average 2,000 inmates per day.
