Budish Announces Eliza Wing as Chief Communications Officer and Mary Louise Madigan as Director of Communications

CLEVELAND – County Executive Armond Budish is pleased to announce the appointment of Eliza Wing as Chief Communications Officer and Mary Louise Madigan as Director of Communications for Cuyahoga County.
Eliza Wing is a communications professional with over 30 years of experience, including time as a reporter, editor, marketing expert and corporate CEO. After reporting and editing roles at Rolling Stone Magazine and New York Woman and other national publications, Ms. Wing joined Cleveland.com in 1996 as Editor-in-Chief and later served as President and CEO from 1998 to 2010. Ms. Wing most recently served as Director of Digital Brands at American Greetings until joining the county.
Mary Louise Madigan has been serving in an interim capacity in this role since May of 2015. Ms. Madigan has been responsible for communications functions and community outreach for the county’s Division of Children and Family Services since 2010, as well as administrative responsibilities in the Department of Health and Human Services.
The Communications Department of Cuyahoga County is responsible for a wide variety of functions, including internal and external communications, media relations, social media, public records management, and the promotion of a broad range of county programs and services.
“Effective two-way communication with residents, businesses and partners is essential for us to be a government that provides the highest level of service. Eliza and Mary Louise are just the right leadership team to make this happen for the County. Their experience and knowledge of communications strategies and passion for community and public service will enhance every aspect of County government - from communicating with our residents on the availability of county services, to establishing the opportunity for citizens to interact with their government and have their voices heard, to effectively communicating with our own staff team.
