Cuyahoga County and EITC Coalition Announce Free Tax Preparation Services

The free tax preparation services announced today will be provided at 25 locations across Cuyahoga County. Families and individuals who earn less than $53,267 annually are eligible to participate. Visit www.refundohio.org to view list of locations. Appointments can be scheduled by dialing 2-1-1.
Tax returns will be prepared and e-filed by IRS-certified tax preparation volunteers, who will also help taxpayers verify if they qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit, the Child Tax Credit, and/or other federal benefits.
The EITC Coalition, led by Enterprise Community Partners, includes dozens of local partners. Cuyahoga County, which is one of the EITC Coalition’s largest financial partners, is providing two County locations to host tax prep services. These are:
Required documentation for tax preparation includes:
Current photo identification, Social Security cards for each adult and child, W2 and 1099 income statements, child care expense statement and provider’s Tax I.D. Number, Form 1099-INT for any checking or savings accounts, and bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit. If the taxpayer purchased health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, they should bring 1099 tax credit from the issuing health insurance company.
The EITC Coalition is a volunteer driven program. Free training is available to become an IRS certified tax preparer for community members who want to volunteer to prepare taxes.

Serving low-middle income residents through April 15th
Cleveland, OH – Cuyahoga County and the Cuyahoga Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Coalition, led by Enterprise Community Partners, will host free tax preparation and wealth building services beginning this week through April. Last year in Cuyahoga County, the EITC Coalition served over 13,000 people and brought back more than $18 million to the community.The free tax preparation services announced today will be provided at 25 locations across Cuyahoga County.
