Cleveland, Ohio – Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish alongside Cuyahoga County Councilman Jack Schron, and Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles Administrator of Field Operations, Tom Wilson celebrated the re-opening of the new Cuyahoga County Auto Title Office located in Golden Gate Plaza with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Cuyahoga County has partnered with the State of Ohio to enhance convenience for consumers and increase customer service levels.

"As part of the County’s strategic priority, Government that Gets results, it is essential that county services are more accessible to the public," said Budish.

The new Cuyahoga County Auto Title Office will offer a full spectrum of services in one location, which includes extended hours, courier service with 24-hour turn-around time and many other services under one roof.

The need to re-open the Auto Title location, which had been closed since 2009, was brought to the County Executive’s attention by a county employee, Dave Schaffer, Auto Title Division Manager. Schaffer made the County Executive aware that the County was losing out on an estimated $800,000 per year in revenue to auto title location in other counties. Without a title bureau in the area, many car dealerships and buyers were going to the next closest auto title location, in Lake County.

After further research, the County Executive decided to re-open the Auto Title Office at Golden Gate, right next to the state's deputy registrar and driver's examination facilities.

"During our budget process I challenged employees to think about ways that we could do our jobs better and smarter throughout the County. With the leadership of employees such as Dave offering great suggestions that benefit everyone involved from residents, consumers and dealers, it’s a win win for all of us," Budish added.

"In addition to the consumer needs, it is exciting to again provide support for the business needs of our County auto dealerships." Councilman Jack Schron added. "Business needs government to respond, and this shows our desire to respond at their speed."
