Chief Fiscal Officer Receives Ohio Government Finance Officers Association Award

Cleveland, Ohio – Today, Cuyahoga County Chief Fiscal Officer, Dennis Kennedy, received the Ohio Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award. This award recognizes awardees for their professionalism, honesty, and integrity during their service.

"It is an honor to have our Chief Fiscal Officer, Dennis Kennedy recognized for such a prestigious award," said Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish.  "Earlier this year, we were faced with a $68 million budget hole and with Kennedy’s experience and skills, we were able to balance our budget and get on track to where the county needs to be fiscally. Congratulations Dennis!"

said Dennis Kennedy, Cuyahoga County Fiscal Officer. "I would like to thank everyone who has helped me along the way. Any degree of success I have achieved was the result of the help I received from my fellow colleagues that I have worked with and for over the years."

Kennedy, a Certified Public Accountant, has held the position of Fiscal Officer for Cuyahoga County since March 2015. As Fiscal Officer, Kennedy oversees the majority of functions previously associated with the County Auditor and County Recorder positions. The Fiscal Office includes the Office of Budget and Management, the Office of Procurement and Diversity, Financial Reporting, Auto Title, Recording Office, Real Property, the Board of Revision, Treasury Department and several other financial related operations.

The award was presented during the Ohio GFOA 29th Annual Conference being held in Columbus, Ohio, September 21st - 23rd, 2016.
