Utilities Resource Fair Announced

“Today’s economy combined with the cold winter will force many of our residents to face large utility balances”, said Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish. “This fair is a critical resource that provides a way for some of our most vulnerable to make it through the winter season.”
During the resource fair there will be two free training workshops:
The fair will not only provide information and resources, enabling customers to apply for utilities assistance programs, but residents can also apply for county benefits programs such as Medicaid, Child Care and Food Assistance.
Community Financial Centers – a partner with Cleveland Neighborhood Progress, will have experts on-hand to offer financial literacy tips and counseling.

Free event connecting residents to assistance programs and financial planning
Cleveland, OH – Cuyahoga County Job and Family Services (CJFS) and local organizations will host a utilities resource fair providing Cuyahoga County residents access to utilities assistance programs including Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), Percentage of Income Program (PIPP) and Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP). The event will be held 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the Lakewood United Methodist Church at 15700 Detroit Ave, Lakewood, Ohio 44107.“Today’s economy combined with the cold winter will force many of our residents to face large utility balances”, said Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish. “This fair is a critical resource that provides a way for some of our most vulnerable to make it through the winter season.”

- 12PM workshop is on Prevention Retention Contingency (PRC) – a program that provides emergency aid and services due to unexpected occurrences.
- 1PM workshop is on understanding how to apply for utilities assistance programs e.g. HEAP, PIPP and HWAP.
