On Friday, June 9, the Cleveland Cavaliers will host Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Quicken Loans Arena at 9:00 p.m. The Cleveland Indians will also host the Chicago White Sox at Progressive Field at 7:10 p.m. The ‘No Parking’ restrictions will go into effect at 4:00 p.m.

Due to enhanced security measures around the Quicken Loans Arena, there will be delays getting to and from the venue. Attendees are asked to take this into consideration in their travel plans.

The City of Cleveland and Division of Police offer citizens the following advice:

Arrive early: Plan your commute beforehand to effectively utilize your time. For Wednesday and Friday’s Cavaliers game, there will be a free FanFest outside Quicken Loans Arena two and a half hours before tip-off. Arrive early to enjoy the festivities. For fans with tickets to the games, The Q’s doors will open at 7:00 p.m., two hours prior to tipoff.

Ride RTA: RTA will operate Red Line trains every 10 minutes to accommodate all sports fans and visitors. Blue and Green Line trains will run according to the regular schedule. Please note: the last Green Line train leaves Tower City at 9 p.m. RTA will operate Red and Blue Line trains for at least 60 minutes after the games end. Park for free at many of RTA’s rapid stations, buy a $5 round trip ticket or use RTA’s mobile ticketing app to take the train to Tower City Station for an easy walk to the Q through the enclosed Walkway near Tower City food court. Plan your commute with

Put Your Junk in Your Trunk: Valuable items should not be left in the interior of a vehicle where others can see them. Even better is to place these items in the trunk prior to arriving at your destination.

Be cautious of counterfeit tickets: The risk of purchasing counterfeit tickets from scalpers off the street is high during the NBA Finals. Fans who purchase tickets from a secondary source are taking a chance. Police officers want to proactively curb such activity and encourage buyers to be aware. Purchasing tickets via other means creates the potential for possessing either an invalid or counterfeit ticket. The sports teams are not responsible for tickets purchased through non-team sanctioned secondary ticket sources.

Be aware of increased pedestrian traffic in the downtown area.

If you see something suspicious, say something. Report any suspicious activity to safety officials.

Be alert for traffic pattern changes: If you are traveling to or from the city this weekend, the Ohio Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists to be alert for detours and new traffic patterns.

Motorists are encouraged to follow all posted signage and allow for extra travel time to reach, and depart, Downtown venues. Visit for up-to-the-minute information, including LIVE traffic speeds and cameras approaching Downtown Cleveland.
