CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish issued the following statement:
“Climate change, caused by greenhouse gas emissions, is a long-term crisis – one that most of the world’s scientists and nations agree is upon us. As our natural environment continues to change, there is no doubt that our society will be negatively impacted. The Trump administration’s decision to reverse President Obama’s Clean Power Plan (CPP) is irresponsible and irrational considering the threat that climate change poses and the significant positive impact the CPP would have had in regulating emissions.
I believe clean energy and supporting clean energy is not only good for our lives but also for our livelihoods. There are jobs available and more will become available as we work to innovate our way into a cleaner future. Cuyahoga County will keep its commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and developing more opportunities for clean energy development in our region.”
