Budish Applauds Ohio EPA for Debris Removed from Arco Dump Site in East Cleveland

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – County Executive Armond Budish wishes to publicly thank Director Butler and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for their remarkable speed and urgency in removing 361,073 cubic yards, which is over 150,000 tons of debris, from the Arco dump site in East Cleveland.
“I am extremely grateful to Director Butler and the Ohio EPA for their extraordinary efforts in removing debris from the Arco site in East Cleveland. Our community should recognize the incredible resources identified for this work and the determination of Ohio EPA to clean up this site in record time.”
In addition, Budish recognized county workers and suburban partners who provided equipment and workforce during the challenging process:
“Facing challenges such as spontaneous fires and potential safety issues, I also recognize our county staff in Public Works and Public Safety, the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, as well as numerous suburban safety forces and additional staff who pitched in at a moment's notice to keep this site safe and keep the work going. This is an excellent example of governments at all levels working together to get a job done.”
