CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – The Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works is proposing to award $250,000 to assist the City of Middleburg Heights with an emergency repair of a critical culvert on Bagley Road. The project will be funded by the Department of Public Works Road and Bridge fund.

Bridge Inspectors from the Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works recognized the need for emergency repairs to the culvert, which was close to failure.

“It is important that we continue to work together to provide our municipalities with the resources needed, especially in emergency situations,” said Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish. “The City of Middleburg Heights reached out to us and it is imperative that the culvert is repaired to prevent interruptions to the communities and services that could have possibly been affected.”

Rescue squads from Middleburg Heights, Brook Park, Strongsville, Parma Heights and Brunswick frequently travel over the culvert to directly access Southwest General Hospital emergency center.

“Myself and the people of Middleburg Heights are thankful for the reliable and competent leadership of Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish and his staff, in requesting a $250,000 award to repair a critical road culvert that affects, not only our city, but the region,” stated Middleburg Heights Mayor Gary W. Starr.
