Nine-hundred backpacks filled and donated last year
Cuyahoga County, OH – The Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services is gearing up for its annual back-to-school resource fair and backpack giveaway on Tuesday, August 7th. The goal is to supply children in foster and kinship care with everything they need to start the school year prepared and ready for the challenges that lie ahead.
“We are asking you to partner with us and support these children and their families by donating school supplies,” said County Executive Armond Budish. “These are not just our children, they are yours too. They live where you live, they attend school with your children, and they play in the same sports leagues.”
“Many of these children and families do not have access to the necessary school supplies for the upcoming school year,” stated Walter Parfejewiec, Cuyahoga County Health and Human Services Director. “Donating school supplies is an extremely impactful way to help the over 5,000 children and families that the County works with or supports through foster care, kinship care, or in-home services.”
The deadline to donate is Friday, August 3rd.
