Sheriff’s Department Explore Program Hosting Open House October 4th
Cuyahoga County, OH –The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department Explorer Post #701 invites you to an Open House and Recruitment Seminar Thursday October 4th, 2018 at 7pm in the Justice Center 1215 West Third Street Cleveland, Multipurpose Room (entrance from Lakeside Avenue).
The program is administered by off-duty Sheriff’s Department personnel, led by Det. Nick Riegelmeyer, who is celebrating his 20th anniversary leading the award-winning program. Several hundred students from the Explorer #701 program have gone on to careers in local, state and federal law enforcement, as well as careers in the military, fire and other emergency response organizations.
Sheriff’s Department Explorer Program is a volunteer partnership between youths in our community and law enforcement. The explorers, who range in age from 14 to 21, receive extensive training in an academic setting and can participate in community affairs and non-hazardous law enforcement activities. Explorer programs are a great resource for those considering a future career in law enforcement, or those who just want to get involved and help out.
Classes include but are not limited to: K-9 Handling, Special Weapons & Tactics Training, Fingerprinting, Handcuffing Techniques, Report Writing, Court Procedures, Sex Crime Investigation, Patrol & Traffic Techniques, Homicide Investigation and First Aid & CPR.
