CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish issued the following statement:

"We are sad to learn of the death of Mr. David Sollars, who died of injuries he sustained after being struck by a vehicle while working on the Cedar Road Reconstruction Project that is being managed by our Department of Public Works. Mr. Sollars and his colleagues at Trafftech Inc. are professional, dedicated contractors who were working with us to improve the roads that are a lifeline to families, commerce, and recreation for the people of Cuyahoga County. Our continued thoughts are with Ronald Carter, who was also hit by the vehicle and remains in stable condition.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Mr. Sollars’ family and friends. We ask the public to remember him by exercising additional caution any time you see an orange construction barrel or a sign alerting you to road work. Remember, use extra caution in and around work zones. We want to ensure that our workers make it home safely to their families each and every night."
