CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – The Cuyahoga County Department of Regional Collaboration is encouraging residents and community members to apply to be a member of the Citizen’s Advisory Council on Equity.
Committee Members will encourage community outreach and public participation and provide recommendations and input to County Executive Armond Budish and County Council regarding the development of equity goals, strategies and programs.
The Citizens’ Advisory Council on Equity will provide reports of findings and recommendations for policies and programs from the Advisory Council and collected from the public regarding equity to the County Executive and County Council. The council will have between nine and 15 members, all of which will serve one-year terms.
“Boards and Commissions give residents a voice in their government and a voice in their community,” said County Executive Armond Budish. “Members of this board will influence decisions that shape the quality of life for Cuyahoga County residents, and I encourage those who have been traditionally under-represented in public policy decision-making to apply and bring a valuable perspective.”
The County Executive has appointing authority subject to confirmation by County Council for many boards and commissions. The Department of Regional Collaboration works alongside the County Executive to review highly qualified people from all backgrounds, neighborhoods and communities. Each candidate appointed will appear before Council to answer questions about their qualifications and interest in service to the Board.
