CLEVELAND – The Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame are teaming up for Discovering Together, a program encouraging fathers and their children to visit the museum and discover a new hobby together.

Starting Saturday, January 25th, fathers and their children who visit the Rock Hall can participate in self-guided activities that lead them through discovering a new hobby and exploring the museum together. Special guides can be found on the Fatherhood Initiative website, or at the Rock Hall’s Welcome Kiosk.

Fathers and their children start in the Rock Hall’s new Garage exhibit where they can pick up real instruments and learn to play together. They can then brand their very own Garage Band and create a sticker to take home to commemorate their experience. Afterwards, they’ll explore the rest of the museum, including the new “Play It Loud: Instruments of Rock & Roll” exhibit, and learn about the history and stories of rock & roll.

“This partnership with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame continues our effort to strengthen families in Cuyahoga County by encouraging and assisting fathers in actively participating in raising and nurturing their children,” said Al Grimes of the Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative.

“The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s partnership with the Fatherhood Initiative spotlights our mission by providing opportunities for fathers to bond with their children through the power of rock & roll,” said Kathryn Clusman, Manager of Community and Family Programs. “Fathers and their children can find new hobbies together by playing an instrument and learning about the history of rock & roll through exploring the museum, all while creating memories together.”

Throughout the year, the Rock Hall also offers Rock the Block Community Days presented by the John P. Murphy Foundation featuring free, impactful programming and resources to families and residents of the community. Rock the Block Community Days include Fam Jam, a day of family fun including free activities and live music, slated for summer 2020.

Visitors who live in Cleveland can take advantage of free admission through the CLE VIP Program and Cuyahoga County residents who live outside of the City of Cleveland get discounted NEO Resident Admission.

About the Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative
The Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative (CCFI) seeks to strengthen families in our community by encouraging fathers to play a more active role in nurturing and raising their children. The Initiative responds to escalating social concerns regarding "father absence" by providing fathers with access to services designed to prepare them to better meet the emotional, psychological, and financial needs of their children. The CCFI also seeks to increase public awareness of the importance of father involvement.
