Robert Coury Named as Cuyahoga County Chief of Public Safety and Justice Services

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish announced today the appointment of Robert Coury to the role of Chief of Public Safety and Justice Services. Mr. Coury most recently served as Vice President of Legal Services for Matrix Pointe Software.

Prior to his leadership role at Matrix Pointe, Mr. Coury served as Chief of Medical Services and Compliance for the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation where he directed a staff of 300 in the operations of both the Medical Services Division and the Special Investigations Division.

Mr. Coury formerly held the position of First Assistant to the Cuyahoga County Prosecuting Attorney from 1999 to 2007. In this role, Mr. Coury managed all operations of the Cuyahoga County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and oversaw thousands of criminal and civil cases annually.

Bob Coury brings a great depth of experience to his new role. His work over the years in the justice system makes him highly qualified for the role of Chief of Public Safety and Justice Services. I am looking forward to working with him,” said Cuyahoga County Chief of Staff Bill Mason.

As Chief of Public Safety and Justice Services, Mr. Coury will work with and assist the County Sheriff on jail inmate reduction, new efficiencies to enhance jail operations, and will serve as a liaison between the Sheriff and the County Executive to ensure information regarding operations and central booking are optimal.
