Residents Should Continue to Stay Home As COVID-19 Still Rampant in County

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH
— Cuyahoga County and the County Board of Health are extending the County’s Stay at Home Advisory to remain in effect through Friday, January 15.

The previous Stay at Home Advisory was in effect from November 19 through December 17, 2020.

The Advisory encourages Cuyahoga County residents to stay home to the greatest extent possible due to the rapid rise of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in the county. Residents are advised to only leave their home to go to work or school, or for essential needs such as seeking medical care, purchasing essential items from a grocery store or pharmacy, picking up prepared food, or receiving deliveries.

Additionally, residents are strongly advised to avoid traveling in and out of the State of Ohio and to forgo having guests in their homes or residences during the upcoming holiday.

“The ongoing Stay at Home Advisory is critical to protect our residents as COVID-19 cases are continuing to rise and too many lives are being lost,” said County Executive Armond Budish. “While we are all looking toward the light at the end of the tunnel, we need to continue to hunker down through these winter months and keep our family and friends safe.”

“We appreciate the recognition and support from County Executive Budish, as we are still deep in an unprecedented surge of cases and heartbreaking fatalities from the ravages of COVID-19,”
said Cuyahoga County Health Commissioner Terry Allan. “We join the other urban counties across Ohio in extending our stay at home advisory as a reminder to celebrate safely during the holidays to save lives, even as we begin our long-awaited vaccination campaign.”
