Budish Appoints Interim Cuyahoga County Sheriff

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – Lt. Joseph Greiner has been appointed by County Executive Armond Budish as interim Cuyahoga County Sheriff. Lt. Greiner began with the County in 2012 as a Deputy, was promoted to Sergeant in 2017 and to Lieutenant in 2020. He previously served in the Lorain County Sheriff’s Department, as a police officer with Medina Township, as an EMT, and in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Lt. Greiner will serve as interim Sheriff until the Executive names the appointment of a permanent Sheriff and presents the candidate to County Council for consideration and approval.
