Cuyahoga County Councilman Pernel Jones, Jr., to announce funding for a mentoring and parent training program “Closing the Achievement Gap (CTAG)” that will be piloted in Garfield Heights, Maple Heights, and Warrensville Heights school districts during the 2014-2015 school year. The evidence-based program focuses on African-American and Hispanic male students who are entering the 9th grade and are at risk of dropping out of school. The CTAG Initiative is designed to help students stay in school and earn their high school diploma in order to reach their full potential.
