Cuyahoga County Council to Recognize the Departure of Two Members of the Inaugural Council on Dec. 28th
Cleveland, OH – At the Special Council Meeting on December 28th at 10:30 am, County Council will recognize the departure of Councilman Dave Greenspan who was newly elected as State Representative for Ohio House District 16 and Councilman Chuck M. Germana who will be retiring from public service.
As Chair of the Finance and Budget Committee, Councilman Dave Greenspan led County Council through the successful implementation of the 2016-2017 Biennial Operating Budget and Capital Improvements Program. A dedicated advocate for diligent fiscal responsibility, Councilman Greenspan has sponsored ordinances mandating comfortable reserves for the County’s General Fund and Health & Human Services Fund, requiring County departments to provide budgetary justification and detailed information about all new programs and services. With a strong interest in restoring public trust, Councilman Greenspan has sponsored or co-sponsored a series of legislation that strengthened the County’s ethical procedures and increased transparency in government.
Residing in Westlake with his wife, Mary, and their son, Grant, Councilman Greenspan will continue to represent the people of Cuyahoga County District 1 in the Ohio Legislature as their Ohio House District 16 State Representative.
Councilman Chuck M. Germana has devoted over 30 years of his life and career to public service. Prior to County Council, the Councilman served as President of Parma City Council for 19 years and Treasurer and Two-Time President of the Parma Area Chamber of Commerce. Providing more efficient County services and meeting in an open forum was a top priority for Councilman Germana as he served as Chair of Council Intergovernmental & Collaboration and Public Works Committees during his tenure with Council.
As a longtime resident of Parma, Councilman Germana plans to remain civically engaged in his community while continuing to work as an Independent Insurance Agent for the Four Star Insurance Agency.
