Artists are invited to walk through the creative space before submitting proposals to be part of Cuyahoga County’s Rediscover Veterans Memorial Bridge Initiative
CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – Cuyahoga County is inviting artists to reimagine the Veterans Memorial Bridge and use the space as their canvas for an innovative and immersive public experience.
With support from the Cleveland Foundation, the artist or group who submits the winning project will receive $50,000 to make their vision a reality for visitors, starting in June 2024.
Interested parties should attend a pre-proposal meeting and site walk of the Veterans Memorial Bridge on Wednesday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m. Registration is required to attend the site walk.
All proposals are due by Friday, December 15 at 11:00 a.m.
Last summer, more than 9,000 visitors came to a two-day Rediscover Veterans Memorial Bridge event that provided unparalleled views of the industrial valley and Lake Erie and gave residents a chance to provide feedback on how they would like to see the 3,112-foot walkway on the underside of the bridge be used for future public access.
Criteria and eligibility details for proposals are on the Cuyahoga County Public Works web site.
