Program provides residents with information needed to settle an estate

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – Cuyahoga County is hosting more Great Estates Program outreach events to help residents avoid unnecessary costs and delays in settling an estate. The program provides guidance and documents for real estate, bank accounts, motor vehicles, and other personal property to ensure that assets are passed directly to the intended beneficiary. In addition, there will be a discussion on the importance of trusts in estate planning.

“The Great Estates Program launched in 2023 and has been highly successful in providing residents with the tools and resources needed to lessen the complexity of the estate planning process,” said Michael Chambers, Chief Fiscal Officer of Cuyahoga County. “By expanding outreach efforts across the region, we hope to reach even more people in need of this helpful information.”

There are five public outreach events scheduled where representatives from the County’s Fiscal Office and Cuyahoga County Probate Court will be available to provide residents with a Great Estates Program Kit. The kit contains documents needed for real estate and motor vehicle title transfer. Representatives will answer questions about how to fill out and file the appropriate paperwork and be available to process real estate affidavits on-site.
