Cuyahoga County Awards Grant Funds to 16 Municipalities

Funding allows cities and villages to improve public services

 

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – Cuyahoga County is allocating more than $2.2 million to support community development and infrastructure projects in sixteen  municipalities across the county.  The grants, from the Cuyahoga County Community Development Block Grant Program, will help to improve roads, bolster public safety, and enhance city services.

“We are proud to invest in our municipalities and support projects that strengthen our communities,” said Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne. “The funding will enable local governments to address critical needs that will improve the quality of life for our residents. Together, we are working towards building stronger, more resilient communities.”

Funding will be allocated as follows:

The City of Bedford will receive up to $150,000 for Bedford Police Department vehicles. 

The City of Berea will receive up to $150,000 for improvements to Baker Street.

The City of Brooklyn will receive up to $150,000 for the Southwood Drive Watermain Project. 

The City of Fairview Park will receive up to $150,000 for the Fairview Park/Metroparks Connectivity Lighting Project.

The City of Maple Heights will receive up to $150,000 for the Maple Heights Senior Center Emergency Generator Project. 

The City of Middleburg Heights will receive up to $150,000 for the resurfacing of Grant Boulevard from Webster Road to Glenridge Avenue. 

The Village of Newburgh Heights will receive up to $150,000 for the resurfacing of Bridgeview Avenue. 

The Village of North Randall will receive up to $150,000 for the Housing Rehabilitation and Restoration Program. 

The City of North Royalton will receive up to $38,000 for Memorial Park ADA Parking Lot Improvements.

The Village of Oakwood will receive up to $150,000 for First Place Pavement Improvement Project

The City of Parma Heights will receive up to $150,000 for the resurfacing of Denison Boulevard

The City of Richmond Heights will receive up to $150,000 for the Richmond Heights Community Center Fire Suppression Initiative

The City of Shaker Heights will receive up to $150,000 for the Lee Road Storefront and Exterior Improvement Program

The City of South Euclid will receive up to $150,000 for the Playground of Possibilities Restoration Project at Bexley Park

The City of Warrensville Heights will receive up to $150,000 for Street and road repairs on Granada Boulevard

The Village of Woodmere will receive up to $85,000 for the Exterior Home Maintenance Grant Program

Cuyahoga County Council voted unanimously to pass a resolution authorizing County Executive Chris Ronayne to execute the agreements at the March 26 meeting.
