$20 adoptions through June 9th

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH - The Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter (CCAS) is offering reduced adoption fees of only $20 on all dogs through Sunday, June 9, 2024. The shelter is at critical capacity due to a large influx of stray dogs, having received over 25 dogs within two days.

Normal dog adoption fees are $95. All adoptions include spay/neuter services, vaccines, a 2024 dog license, microchipping, and a current rabies tag.

The shelter is also waiving most fees for those looking to reclaim their lost dog, owners will pay only $20, the cost of a 2024 dog license.

“We are hoping to reach people who may have had a dog go missing or those wishing to adopt a new pet if not reclaimed by owner,” said Animal Shelter Administrator Mindy Naticchioni. "The shelter can hold over 100 dogs, but with almost a third of the maximum population entering the shelter in such a short time frame, shelter resources and capacity are being severely strained."

Due to the rise in the number of intakes, the shelter also has a critical need for temporary foster homes to allow space for incoming animals. If you are interested in fostering, please email the shelter at foster@cuyahogacounty.us or stop by during the shelter’s business hours.

Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
