Complaints must be filed or postmarked by Friday, August 30

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – Property owners wishing to dispute the Proposed Reappraised Value of their properties are advised that the deadline to file for Informal Review is this Friday, August 30^th.

Every six years, the Tax Commissioner for the State of Ohio requires the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Officer to reappraise all real property in Cuyahoga County. The Fiscal Office mailed 2024 Proposed Value Notices to property owners stating the Proposed Reappraised Value of properties for tax year 2024, payable in 2025.

Property owners can use the Property Tax Estimator to see how the Proposed Reappraised Value changes the Estimated Tax amount for 2024 at: cuyahogacounty.gov/taxestimator.

Property owners who disagree with the Proposed Reappraised Value of their property can file for Informal Review until Friday, August 30^th. Property owners who are in agreement with their proposed valuation are NOT required to file for review.

To file an Informal Review Complaint:

Fill out the Property Owner Response Form online by entering the Permanent Parcel Number and Pin # provided in the 2024 Proposed Value Notice. You may also choose to drop off OR mail in the Property Owner Response Form along with the supporting documentation to:

Gather supporting documentation. ALL documents MUST be labeled with the Permanent Parcel Number and must include at least one of the following:

• An appraisal report completed within the last 36 months (photocopy)
• A purchase agreement and closing statement (photocopy)
• Construction costs of a new dwelling, certified by the builder
• Certified estimates from a contractor for repairs cited as a reason for the change in value
• Photographs of property showing structural damage and estimates for repair

Submit the property Owner Response Form and supporting documentation BY AUGUST 30, 2024.
