CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – Cuyahoga County is proud to announce that the Fiscal Office has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.  The award, presented by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), recognizes the County for its annual comprehensive financial report.  The Certificate of Achievement represents a significant accomplishment by the Fiscal Office and its management.

“I am proud to see our Cuyahoga County Fiscal Office recognized for its commitment to delivering the highest level of service and responsibility to residents through comprehensive reporting,” said County Executive Chris Ronayne.  “I am grateful that the Government Finance Officers Association chose our team for this prestigious recognition.”

The GFOA established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare annual comprehensive financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal.
