Changes to County Council Meeting Parking Validation Coming May 1
CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – Cuyahoga County Council is informing members of the public that beginning May 1, visitors parking at the 900 Prospect Avenue Garage must use the Metropolis Parking app to receive parking validation from the County Council.
Parking for visitors attending County Council meetings will continue to receive complimentary parking at the 900 Prospect Avenue Garage with the appropriate validation.
Here’s what to expect:
Before entering the 900 Prospect Avenue Garage:
- Download the Metropolis parking app on to your smartphone.
- Create an account.
- Input your license plate information.
At the Council meeting:
- Scan the meeting-specific QR code available ONLY in the C. Ellen Connally Council Chambers.
- Follow the instructions shown when the Metropolis web or smartphone app opens. If you have not previously created a Metropolis account, you will need your license plate information.
- You will receive confirmation that your parking has been validated, and only then will you be able to exit the garage.
Utilizing the QR code in the C. Ellen Connally Council Chambers is the only way to receive validation for free parking during that day’s meeting.
The first Regular Council Meeting with this change in effect will be May 13, 2025. Committee meetings starting May 1, 2025 will also utilize this change.
The 900 Prospect Avenue Garage is not a County owned/operated garage. Geis Properties owns the garage. They have chosen Metropolis, a non-county entity, to manage their parking garage. The County has had an agreement with the garage to provide validated parking to Council meeting visitors since 2014. Answers to frequently asked questions can be found by accessing the Metropolis Help Center. You will be responsible for the cost of parking (at the rate posted) on Council meeting days if you are unable to utilize this online parking service.
